Monday the kids were off from school for MLKJ Day. Nature decided that was a good day for hockey, and we all agreed!
Kyle and I checked out Indian Meadows’s ice on Saturday morning. It was good enough that Kyle, Janet, and Caleb went back Saturday afternoon for about an hour, but it really wasn’t great.
Monday we had a few inches of snow. Kyle and I shoveled the driveway, then Lewis and Adele got to playing.
By lunchtime all the kids were at the Madsens’ house having a snowball fight. Andy had offered to let us use his snow blower to clear off his pond, and Kyle was pulling for that. Gradually people were persuaded to play hockey, and we ended up with 13 of us on the ice.
After ~2 hours of clearing off a rink, we played for hockey for almost an hour. With a little luck the ice will still be good this weekend.
Lewis got in on the action serveral times. I’m sore all over my entire body, mostly from clearing snow. I lent my skates to Kyle so he could lend his skates to Caleb, and hockey only makes you sore if you skate around.
